Reggae Artist Mackey Solo will be gracing us with his presence and performing live songs from his hit album #TrueConfessions at Night Mist Saturday April 30, 2016.

Mackey Solo was born in Kingston, Jamaica W.I on July 14th. He has always enjoyed singing and listening to soft and conscious reggae music. Some of his musical influences includes Jah Cure, Sizzla and the late legendary Bob Marley. He began writing poems and later decided to pursue his passion for singing and song writing. Mackey sang in churches and outside neighborhoods in Jamaica to get an early start. As he continued to gain confidence, he performed at open mic lounges and galleries such as Annie’s Art Gallery, Busboys and Poets, Twelve Lounge and Pure Poetry. Mackey has also showcased his talent at various events and was the January 2012 winner of the Hype Life song competition held in Queens, New York. Winning the Hype Life competition helped launched his first official music video “Creep Up Pon Har”, featured on Hype Life TV and on YouTube. The next music video followed was “Hear Me”. His third official music video “Take My Breath Away” is also doing well. Mackey Solo knows the importance of being consistent. He has three singles on iTunes (Hot Gal Run with Rush Dem, Someday, and Take My Breath Away). His music is also available on Amazon.com.

Rashad Andre Payne AKA LiL R.A.P. aka Rush Dem was born in Takoma Park MD. He was raised between Northwest Washington DC on Delafield Rd and Prince George’s county in Hyattsville MD. Rush blends personal life accounts with lyrically witty lines and smooth reggae charged melodies. Some of his musical influences include his cousin Edley Shine of Born Jamericans, Bob Marley, Sizzla, Scarface, Nas and Jay-Z.
